Nadia Arshad  |  Solicitor

Originally from the Shetlands Islands, Nadia is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Edinburgh before joining the firm in 2014. She is now a solicitor practising in family, criminal and immigration law.

Nadia has extensive advocacy experience and appears daily in Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts throughout Scotland as well as instructing Counsel in the Court of Session. Her meticulous attention to detail has allowed her to maintain an impressive success rate in her cases. In the criminal law sphere, she is regularly instructed in road traffic and sexual offences cases and in quasi criminal/civil matters including summary applications for Risk of Sexual Harm Orders.

Nadia’s substantial family law experience encompasses financial provision on divorce, cross-border child disputes and non-harassment and domestic violence matters. She is committed to resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, and the collaborative process. Where litigation becomes necessary, whether in the Sheriff Court or Court of Session, Nadia has substantial experience at guiding clients through the process.

Nadia also has a wealth in immigration matters, particularly in family and human rights cases. She is regularly instructed to advise on immigration matters arising from breakdown or formation of relationships and is instructed by clients across the world to prepare visa applications. She has a keen interest in applications made under the domestic abuse provisions of the Immigration Rules and has experience of appearing in the immigration tribunal.

Nadia is a member of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and a Notary Public. She is fluent in both Urdu and Punjabi.
